The German music channel iMusic1 will start broadcasting on the digital terrestrial network in Berlin and Potsdam from January 1st.

iMusic1 offers what it calls “real music television made in Germany “: non-stop clips with rock, pop, house and ‘electro’ music, but also chart hits and in newcomers. In addition, the channel will broadcast items about technology, games and lifestyle.

The launch of iMusic1 will increase the number of channels offered via digital terrestrial television in Berlin to 36. The music channel will be available on channel 56 from two transmitter sites, Alexanderplatz (10 kW) and Schäferberg (20 kW).

“The launch of iMusic 1 in the DVB-T network of Berlin is a logical consequence of the recent market development. In the coming months we will examine other options to increase the technical and actual reach of our channel,”said Marco Quirini, COO iMusic, in a statement.

The channel broadcasts via Astra and Eutelsat Hot bird satellites and is available in digital tiers on most German cable operators, including Kabel Deutschland, Kabel BW and Unitymedia, as well as in the Kabelkiosk offer.
