Sky 3D in 70,000 homes

Sky has revealed that 70,000 UK homes have signed up to its 3D package since it launched the service on October 1st 2010.

Chief executive Jeremy Darroch, said that the service has got off to a very good start in reaching this total in just a few months. He added that they are very happy with the progress of 3D to date, and they are really encouraged by the feedback that they are getting from customers.

Sky 3Dís channel director, John Cassy, said that about half of all 3D TVs sold in the UK are now hooked up to this service. Casey said Sky will continue to increase the amount of 3D programming that they are offering and they intend to soon screen natural history documentaries from Sir David Attenborough and an upcoming broadcast of ENOís new production of Gaetano Donizettiís Lucrezia Borgia.
