Mediaset has unveiled Premium Net TV, the Italian broadcaster’s first foray into over-the-top television delivery, claiming the line-up is unmatched by any other operator.
In addition to catch-up TV from the last seven days on the Mediaset channels, the service will also include movies, TV series, cartoons, documentaries and football, much of it in HD.
“After the success of Premium On Demand, we have decided to offer television viewers a service that in terms of the technological content, ease of use, quality and new content is an unprecedented innovation,” said Pier Silvio Berlusconi, deputy chairman Mediaset.
The offer will be available as part of Mediaset’s successful DTT platform – viewable to any household that has the so-called “Gold Standard decoder – as well as over a PC.
Movie titles will also be available to rent with deals struck with Hollywood majors that include Warner, Universal, Medusa and 01 Distribution.
