Prisa TV chooses Colt for HDTV transmissions

Spain's leading audiovisual group Prisa TV has chosen the services of information delivery platform Colt for the deployment of new HDTV video transmission infrastructures for its subscribers.
The new solution has been key for the deployment of Prisa TV's new pay-TV offering by Digital+ in HDTV and 3DTV. This offering has been pioneered in Spain and comprises 14 out of 150 channels the pay-TV operator offers currently.
The solution Colt has implemented for Prisa TV includes several specialised circuits based on Carrier Ethernet technology that links content providers with Digital+. The new circuits, either national or international, have enough flexibility as to be used as analogue PAL circuits, SDI digital or HDTV all with embedded audio.
Prisa TV says that it now has the capacity to offer its Spanish clients audiovisual contents with the highest quality from 31 different European cities. At the same time Colt will provide Prisa TV's clients with broadband through the two data centres it has in Madrid and Barcelona.
Given the nature of Colt's circuits, Prisa TV does not share infrastructure with any other client or service, something fundamental concerning quality when the broadband demand by the end users is exponential.
