French-speaking international channel TV5Monde will launch in Poland its twelfth language for subtitles adding a Polish version to its programmes.

This launch is part of the channel strategy over the 2009-2012 period to strengthen the number of language subtitles as itís aiming to attract new viewers who do not completely dominate the French language.

Around 11 % of Poland inhabitants speak French and 59 % of them know the channel, which is carried in the main offers of cable, satellite and IPTV operators. The subtitles in Polish will be available for prime-time programming at first but will progressively reach 10 hours a day, the channel promises.
