Chello Multicanal will launch the kids channel Canal Panda in Spain on April 1.
The channel will initially reach over 2 million digital TV households, being carried by such major pay-TV players as Digital+, ONO and MoviStar Imagenio. Furthermore, 50% of its offer will consist of Spanish productions.
Canal Panda is already highly successful in neighbouring Portugal, where it has been available for 15 years.
Chello Multicanal, which is owned by Chellomedia, Liberty Globalís international content division, produces a total of 21 TV channels for the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
