Walt Disney has formed an extensive collaboration with Vodafone Germany: The telco will add TV offers from the US media company to its IPTV platform Vodafone TV including ABC TV On Demand.
The subscribers of children's package "Kinder-Paket" (€4.95/month) can from now on receive pay-TV channels Disney XD and Playhouse Disney. ABC TV On Demand will launch in mid-April for all subscribers of the "lounge" package (€9.95/month) offering full-length episodes of series produced by ABC Studios such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Desperate Housewives", "Lost", "Criminal Minds" and "Scrubs".
Viewers can watch the series at any time as often as they like. ABC TV On Demand at Vodafone TV is one of the first ABC TV On Demand offers available outside the USA.
Furthermore, Vodafone will stock up its own video-on-demand service with current blockbuster movies and classic titles from the Disney studios. For example, on 7 April animated film "Tangled" will become available at the same time as the DVD and Blu-ray release.
A large part of the films and series will be offered in high-definition (HDTV) and both with the English-language original soundtrack and the dubbed German version.
