The Romanian public broadcaster TVR is interested in buying one of the packages of premier football league Liga 1 rights auctioned earlier this week.

However, according to ZF, it is only willing to pay a total of 3 million for three seasons (2011/14) rather than the starting price of 10.5 million plus VAT.

The auction saw RCS&RDS and Romtelecom bid successfully for the first two packages, while the third fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh attracted no interest and eighth was secured by the national commercial broadcaster Antena 1.

TVR did not even participate in the auction, which was organised by the Romanian Professional Football League (LPF).
