    Ronaldo - AC Milan interest.
    BERLUSCONI EYES RONALDO SWOOP

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi wants to sign Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports in the Italian media.
Former Manchester United man Ronaldo, who arrived at Real from Old Trafford in 2009, is contracted at the Bernabeu until summer 2015.
But Berlusconi has revealed his interest in the 26-year-old Portugal international, who was on target for the Spanish giants during their 4-0 UEFA Champions League thrashing of Tottenham on Tuesday evening.

He said: "My dream is to have Cristiano Ronaldo in the team. I gave free reign to (AC Milan's CEO Adriano) Galliani (to start the negotiations)."
Real coach Jose Mourinho says he would leave the Spanish club if Ronaldo were sold to AC Milan, though has made it clear he would not follow the forward to the San Siro.
He said to Mediaset Premium: "Berlusconi wants Ronaldo? That's an impossible mission. Although football is an industry and you never know.
"If Cristiano goes away, I'll go away too. But not to AC Milan, not AC Milan."

    Diarra - plenty of interest.
    DIARRA YET TO ATTRACT BID

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud insists no bids have been lodged for highly-rated midfielder Alou Diarra.
The France international is reported to be a summer target for a number of Europe's top clubs, with AC Milan believed to be heading the queue.
Bordeaux are in no rush to sell, though, with the 29-year-old contracted to them for another two years.
Triaud has stopped short of ruling out a transfer completely, but admits any potential suitor would have to match Diarra's buy-out clause in order to complete a deal.
"Diarra on the market? At the moment he's a Bordeaux player and I don't know of any offers," Triaud told tuttomercatoweb.
"For us there is no problem. The player has a contract until 2013 and his buy-out clause is common knowledge.
"If a club is ready to pay that amount and meet the demands of the player, that means Diarra will leave. But until then everything is speculation.
"The player has said that he would like to play for AC Milan. But every player would like to play in Milan, Barcelona, Monaco, Manchester or Madrid, but not everyone can.
"I don't want to talk about Diarra anymore. His position is well defined at the moment and there is nothing else to say."

Gardner - back from loan spell at Preston.
    GARDNER WILL GET CONTRACT SHOT

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has assured Ricardo Gardner that he will be given every opportunity to earn a new deal.
The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has only recently returned from a loan spell at Preston.
A stint with the Lilywhites was intended to aid him in his recovery from a succession of niggling knocks, which have kept him sidelined for long periods.
The Jamaican certainly benefited from a spell in the Championship, while Preston were able to pick up three wins in the four games in took in with them.
Gardner is now hoping to be handed a recall to the Bolton first-team before the end of the season.
Coyle insists the long-serving midfielder will get his chance to impress, with no decision having been made as yet regarding his future.
"The loan move gave Ricardo a month at a very good level," said the Trotters boss.
"I have to thank Preston for allowing him to play the games he did. That was great for us.
"Now I have to be fair to Ricardo. He will return to the squad and I will give him the chance to earn that next contract."
Gardner joined Bolton on the back of an impressive showing at the 1998 World Cup and has gone on to make almost 400 appearances for the club.

Moussa - pens new Foxes deal.
    MOUSSA PENS NEW FOXES DEAL

Leicester midfielder Franck Moussa has agreed a new contract with the club until June 2013.
The 21-year-old Belgium youth international is currently on loan at Championship rivals Doncaster but the extension to his deal secures his place in the future plans of City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"We spoke this week and I am delighted that Franck has agreed to extend his contract with us. He is a talented, young player with a bright future in the game ahead of him," said Eriksson.
"Franck is a good all-round player and has the quality of being versatile. He is also doing well on loan at Doncaster, which is good news for his development."
Moussa, who joined Leicester from Southend in August 2010, made 12 appearances and scored one goal for City before beginning his loan spell at Doncaster in February.
He has scored once in nine appearances for Rovers. His loan spell at the Keepmoat Stadium is due to end on April 16.

Heinze - unsure of his future.
    HEINZE WANTS SUMMER SPENDING

Marseille full-back Gabriel Heinze has questioned the club's recruitment plans for this summer.
OM president Jean-Claude Dassier does not expect the club to be big players in the transfer market after spending heavily last year in strikers Loic Remy and Andre-Pierre Gignac.
Heinze believes regular investment is required to take Marseille forward and even suggested Dassier's stance has prompted him to question his future at the Stade Velodrome.
The Argentinian told RMC: "I do not agree with him.
"At Marseille, we must recruit good players and, inevitably, good players are expensive.
"You can always take a couple of players on a free but you should not base your recruitment on this principle."
Heinze, who joined Marseille from Real Madrid in 2009, added on his own future: "It's 50/50, I have not yet made a decision but I want to do what's best for me and for the club.
"I need to know in my head if I can still give 100% for OM."

    Owomoyela - new Dortmund deal.
    OWOMOYELA EXTENDS DORTMUND DEAL

Former Germany international Patrick Owomoyela has extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund by a year, despite spending much of the current season sidelined by injury.
The 31-year-old could also play a further year for the Westphalians should he remain free of injury next season and make a specific number of appearances.
The club's director of sport Michael Zorc announced the agreement via his club's website today.
Owomoyela joined Dortmund in 2008 from Werder Bremen but has been restricted to just 64 appearances over the past three seasons due to a string of injuries.
He rose to prominence with Arminia Bielefeld between 2003 and 2005 and was part of the Germany national team 11 times in the build-up to the 2006 World Cup, for which he was ultimately not selected.
He started Dortmund's first six matches this season before being sidelined by an ankle injury which could keep him out until the end of the season.

    Agger - knee injury.
    AGGER'S SEASON OVER

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has had his season ended by a knee injury sustained in last weekend's defeat at West Brom.
The Denmark international was forced off in the first half with a tendon problem and after assessment by the club's medical staff the 26-year-old has been told he will be sidelined for two months.
"Daniel has a problem with the tendon behind his knee and won't be involved again this season," said manager Kenny Dalglish.
"He'll be out for a couple of months before he can start training."
Agger's last two seasons at the club have been blighted by injury and his latest set-back could not have come at a worse time with injury problems in defence mounting up for Dalglish, who also lost right-back Glen Johnson to a hamstring strain at The Hawthorns.
He is expected to be out for a month, although no timescale has been put on his recovery, while it is anticipated Martin Kelly - the player who displaced the England international from the right of defence - will be out for a similar amount of time after a recurrence of a hamstring problem.
Dalglish is still waiting for a prognosis on captain Steven Gerrard, who was due to return from a groin operation against West Brom only to sustain a similar but not identical injury in training on Friday.
The fact there has been no swift diagnosis of the problem raises fears the England midfielder's season could also be over.
"Glen Johnson has a hamstring problem which is usually about three or four weeks and it's the same for Martin Kelly," added the Reds boss.
"We will know about Steven at the end of the week. He will be assessed and we'll see what the story is.
"It's disappointing for the players because they want to play in every game.
"We're getting towards the end of the season but if you're injured you're injured.
"We feel for them but the most important people at the football club are the ones who are fit and able to play. We have to get on with what we've got."
There was some good news for Dalglish after Fabio Aurelio - the first team's only specialist left-back - returned to training after a month out with a hamstring strain.
Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is also back with the squad having made a successful comeback from a knee operation in February with an outing for the reserves this week.
"Fabio Aurelio and Jonjo Shelvey are training again and David Ngog had a game for the reserves on Monday, so we've lost some but we've got a few back," added the Scot.

Roy Keane - linked with Melbourne Victory.
VICTORY QUIET ON ROY KEANE LINK

Melbourne Victory have refused to comment on speculation linking Roy Keane with their vacant manager's position.
Keane is without a job currently after being sacked by Ipswich in January and reports in England and Australia have suggested he is in talks with the A-League club.
Victory, who finished fifth in the recently-completed season before losing in an elimination play-off semi-final to Gold Coast United, are seeking a new boss following Ernie Merrick's departure last month.
Keane is known to be in Australia - he attended Wednesday night's Asian Champions league match between Sydney FC and Shanghai Shenhua at the Sydney Football Stadium - but Victory were coy when quizzed about the prospect of hiring the former Manchester United midfielder.
A club spokesman told the Melbourne Herald: "We won't be commenting on speculation regarding the coaching position.
"Suffice to say, we still have a long way to go in the process of appointing a coach."
Keane has had mixed results in management after ending his playing career at Celtic.
He was appointed Sunderland boss in 2006 and led them into the Premier League before resigning in December 2008.
He then spent 21 months at Championship side Ipswich.

Adebayor - celebrates his opening goal against Tottenham.
    ADEBAYOR EYES MADRID SWITCH

Spurs detsroyer Emmanuel Adebayor is still hoping to land a permanent deal at loan employers Real Madrid.
The Togolese striker linked up with the Spanish giants in January after falling out of favour at Manchester City.
At that time he penned an agreement which is set to run until the end of the season, with Real only in the market for attacking cover.
Adebayor has, however, netted five times in 14 appearances for Los Blancos, including twice in a crucial UEFA Champions League tie with Tottenham on Tuesday.
Following a 4-0 quarter-final first leg victory over Spurs, the former Arsenal frontman revealed that he would welcome the opportunity to stay on in Spain should the opportunity arise.
"Of course I do," he said when asked if wanted to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.
"I don't know at the moment [about my future]. I just keep working hard in training.
"I still have one or two months left so we will see."
Real boss Jose Mourinho snapped up Adebayor on a short-term deal after seeing Gonzalo Higuain laid low with a back complaint.
The Argentine returned to action against Spurs in midweek, while the in-form Karim Benzema is expected to be back in action following a niggling knock in the near future.
Their standing at the Bernabeu has cast doubt over the chances of Adebayor landing a permanent deal, but coach Jose Mourinho has hinted that an agreement could yet be struck.
He said: "The most important thing is that we have three strikers. I've wanted this from the very first day.
"We've proved that with two strikers it's very difficult and with three we are covered.
"With the injury that Benzema has, we still have one striker playing and one on the bench, and that's how it should be
"And at the moment I'm happy with all three of them, who are all completely different types of players with different qualities for the team."

Mexes - Roma deal expires this summer.
    MEXES LINES UP MILAN SWITCH

Philippe Mexes has revealed that he expects to be on his way to AC Milan at the end of the season.
The France international is currently on the books of Roma, but will see his contract with the capital giants expire in the summer.
Numerous clubs were believed to be in the running for his signature, with it not often that a player of such calibre becomes available as a free agent.
Mexes admits it will be a wrench to leave Roma after seven enjoyable years at Stadio Olimpico, but believes a move to Milan has come at the right stage of his career.
The 29-year-old centre-half, who is set to miss the remainder of the 2010/11 campaign with a knee ligament injury, told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I don't think I will be staying at Roma, I will be going elsewhere.
"AC Milan? There has been a lot of talk about such a move and I will probably go there.
"After seven years in Rome I am very close to the city, the fans and the club. My son was born in Rome and I feel Roman.
"Football is like this, though, and I have to make the best decision for myself.
"Whatever happens I will never find another team like Roma, not in Italy nor abroad."
