The Russian cable operator ER-Telecom has launched a new on demand service.

Known as Videodom, it gives customers of its high-speed internet access service access to around 3,000 Russian and foreign movies, cartoons and series legally and free of charge.

Content for the service is being sourced from amongst others, which has internet rights to content from such leading suppliers as Central Partnership, Soyuzmultfilm and Amedia.

Since its start a few days ago Videodom has already gained over 10,000 users.

ER-Telecom has a presence in 25 cities and claims 8.3% and 8.5% shares of the Russian cable TV and broadband internet markets respectively.
