Mourinho - rubbished Man City links.
    MOURINHO: MAN CITY MOVE 'IMPOSSIBLE'

Jose Mourinho has rubbished suggestions he could join Manchester City this summer.
The former Chelsea coach had already stated he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid at the moment.
And having seen his side brush aside Tottenham in their Champions League quarter-final to set up a meeting with Barcelona, Mourinho was asked about links with City.
But he told Sky Italia that he would not be moving to Eastlands to replace under-fire boss Robero Mancini.
"Me to Manchester City? That's impossible," he said.
The Portuguese was also asked about Cristiano Ronaldo's link to AC Milan after their owner Silvio Berlusconi admitted his liking for the superstar.
And again, Mourinho doubted his biggest name would be leaving any time soon.
"I'm not saying it's impossible, because in football you never know, and (AC Milan's owner, Silvio) Berlusconi can make a crazy offer," he said.
"But it must be a true madness because Real Madrid don't want to sell Cristiano Ronaldo. "

Rory Delap - new deal on the cards.
DELAP SET FOR NEW STOKE DEAL

Stoke midfielder Rory Delap is poised to seal a 12-month extension to his contract ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Bolton on Sunday at Wembley.
That would see the 34-year-old, who has made 31 league appearances season, continue until 2013.
Manager Tony Pulis said: "Rory deserves it. He has been a very big part of this club. It is not just what he does on the field. He gets his reward for what he does off the field."
Delap has carved out a reputation as a long-throw specialist but Pulis insists there is much more to the player's game than that skill.
"You do not play over 500 leagues game, 400 of them in the top flight, to be just the person to pick the ball up and throw it in the box," said the Stoke boss.
Meanwhile skipper Ryan Shawcross has an extra special reason to do well this weekend thanks to a new addition to his family.
Pulis revealed: "His wife had a baby daughter on Wednesday which is absolutely fantastic. We are very pleased for him.
"Ryan is an outstanding player but his head will be spinning around a lot. We will have to look after him the next couple of days."
Pulis confirmed that Thomas Sorensen will play in goal ahead of Asmir Begovic as he has done in previous rounds of the FA Cup.

Peter Odemwingie - linked with Juventus.
    ODEMWINGIE HAPPY AT WEST BROM

West Brom's leading scorer Peter Odemwingie is poised to stay after being the subject of speculation linking him with a move to Juventus.
Odemwingie has scored 11 goals in his debut season with the Baggies and has been reported to be on the radar of the Italian giants.
But his agent David Omigie is adamant Odemwingie is content with life at The Hawthorns and will only leave if Albion decide they want to dispense with his services.
He said: "Peter has a contract with West Brom, where he is very happy.
"There has been no contact with us and the only people who can say whether there has been any interest in Peter are West Brom.
"West Brom haven't told us about anything and Peter is really enjoying himself there and doing very well.
"He will be happy staying there unless West Brom tell us otherwise."
Nigeria international Odemwingie has often stressed that he is happy at Albion since his 2-million move from Lokomotiv Moscow last summer.
He indicated at the weekend that his main focus was to achieve a career best 15 goals in a campaign and to keep West Brom in the top flight.

David de Gea - knows nothing of offers.
DE GEA IN FRESH MAN UTD DENIAL

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea has again denied claims he has already held talks with Manchester United.
Reports emanating from both Spain and England suggest a 20million deal is already agreed between Atletico and United for the youngster.
But Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Atletico's general manager Miguel Angel Gil Marin denied that this was the case.
Marin did, though, confirm offers had been received from United and their Premier League rivals Chelsea - whilst they had also offered De Gea fresh terms to extend his stay.
The 20-year-old, whose release clause is just over 22million, has already insisted that he has not agreed a deal to leave the Vicente Calderon.
And he has now gone further by stating reports that he has talked with United are false.
"There is nothing, it is all lies," he told a press conference.
"I know nothing about offers from any team, whether it is other clubs or a renewal from Atletico."
De Gea insists he is not frightened about Atletico fans turning against him as he has done nothing wrong.
"I have given my all to this team since I have been here, and that will continue today and tomorrow, I will always fight for this team," he said.
"I do not think the fans have any reason to be against me, we have the best fans in the world and they will support me until my final day, for that I am sure."

    Cahill - eyeing Champions League.
    CAHILL READY FOR NEXT CHALLENGE

Bolton defender Gary Cahill says he would jump at the chance to play Champions League football if it came along.
The 25-year-old, who made his full England debut last month, has reportedly attracted interest from a number of top European clubs after shining for the Trotters over the past two seasons.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are all thought to have Cahill on their wish-list, while both Milan clubs have also been linked with the centre-back.
Trotters manager Owen Coyle has responded to the reported interest by admitting his star defender is likely to outgrow the club and move on.
And Cahill, who will step out at Wembley on Sunday in Bolton's FA Cup semi-final against Stoke, says the dream of playing on club football's most elite stage has made him consider his future.
He told the Daily Mail: "It's a bit weird in a way. Normally when there is transfer speculation, the manager comes out and says, 'They can forget it - he's going nowhere'.
"But the thing about our manager is he's not only ambitious for himself and his club, he's ambitious for his players. He wants them to have the same drive and desire to get to the top. He expects us all to want to better ourselves.
"So when all the speculation started last summer, he called me in for a chat. He checked first of all that it hadn't turned my head, then he came out with this statement about outgrowing the club one day.
"He just said, 'Gaz, if you were happy just to tick along at your age there would be something wrong. You've got it in you to play at Champions League level and I honestly believe it's going to happen for you'.
"It was lovely to hear that, really flattering, and what he said has made it easier for me to contemplate moving on and taking another step forward in my career. If there is an opportunity to do something big you want to take it.
"I would never disrespect Bolton after all they have done for me but I am ready for the challenge."
Cahill draws inspiration from former Bolton loanee Jack Wilshere, who has established himself as a key player at Arsenal since returning to his parent club, and was a star performer in their Champions League campaign.
He added: "I still speak to Jack Wilshere after his loan spell here and when I watched him in the Nou Camp (against Barcelona) the other week I couldn't help thinking, 'That's where I want to be: testing myself against the best'.
"I know there is extra pressure to deliver and prove you're worth a place alongside top players but I like to think I could handle that.
"At 25, I'm still young but I'm not exactly the new kid on the block. I have played enough Premier League games and gained enough international experience to be ready.
"I thought Jack did really well over there in Barcelona. I want to show I can hold my own in that company."

Routledge - no deal in place.
    NO QPR DEAL FOR ROUTLEDGE

Wayne Routledge's agent says Queens Park Rangers have not agreed a deal with Newcastle for the winger, who is set to return to Tyneside in the summer.
Routledge joined QPR in January and has helped them to cement their place at the top of the Championship as they look set to secure promotion.
Hoops boss Neil Warnock has made it clear he wants to keep the winger but the player's agent Will Salthouse says the 26-year-old is heading back to Newcastle at the end of the season.
"Wayne's going to come back to Newcastle United in the summer. There's no deal in place between QPR and Newcastle," he told The Journal.
"There's an option of a permanent move as part of the deal but nothing has been agreed at the moment and he's looking forward to returning.
"He'd like to come back to Newcastle United and show what he can do, to be honest, but obviously if Newcastle don't want him then it is difficult for him.
"But at this moment in time he's looking forward to coming back and trying to fight for his place at Newcastle.
"He's enjoyed his time so far and has two years left on his contract, so he's certainly not looking to move on unless Newcastle want him to."

Piero Mingoia - new deal done.
    MINGOIA COMMITS TO HORNETS

Watford midfielder Piero Mingoia has signed a new contract to keep him at Vicarage Road until 2013.
The 19-year-old is highly thought of at the Hornets and marked his first-team debut with a stunning goal against Hartlepool in the FA Cup in January.
He said: "I really am delighted with this. It shows the club have a lot of belief in me and I aim to repay that faith as best as I can.
"I've been in and around the matchday squad a lot this season without playing too much but I feel I have progressed as a player."

Micky Adams - just two wins.
    ADAMS HOPES BLADES BACK HIM

Sheffield United manager Micky Adams insists he is the right man to lead the club back to the Championship if they are relegated this season.
Adams has steered his hometown team to only two wins in 18 league games since being installed as Gary Speed's successor in late December and the Blades are currently seven points adrift of safety with five games remaining.
"I think I've known since day one that staying up was going to be difficult and I'll take my share of the responsibility if we go down," Adams said. "If we do go down I want to be the manager that brings us back up.
"I'll still be here at the end of the season and players also have a lot to play for because, for some of them, if their futures are not here then who will take them?"
Adams added: "I have to give our magnificent supporters a team to be proud of and all I'm looking for is for the players to put in a good shift and show they care about Sheffield United."

Emmanuel-Thomas - open to Cardiff return.
    JAY OPEN TO CARDIFF RETURN

Cardiff's on-loan midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has hinted at a possible return to the Welsh capital next season.
The 20-year-old arrived from Arsenal in January and has played his role in the club's promotion charge, bagging the second goal in Tuesday's 2-0 victory at Sheffield United to take his tally to two from 12 appearances, seven of which have been starts.
Emmanuel-Thomas will go back to the Emirates Stadium in the summer but he has not ruled out pulling on the blue and white of Cardiff again next term.
"It would be great to go back to Arsenal knowing I've played a part in helping a team get to the Premier League," he told the South Wales Echo.
"You never know what will happen but I could be back here next season. I don't know what the situation will be. My future at the moment though is with Arsenal."
One player who appears certain to return sooner than that is goalkeeper Jason Brown, who this week returned to parent club Blackburn having spent one month on loan at Cardiff.
He has used his Twitter account to say: "Happy to announce that I'll be extending my loan at Cardiff until the end of the season."

Re: Latest Transfer Update at 14-04-11

    Millen - looking to strengthen.
    MILLEN MULLS DEFENSIVE SPLURGE

Manager Keith Millen plans to bolster Bristol City's defence ahead of next season as he is "down to the bare bones" at the back.
Forced to bring in long-term loan signings Steven Caulker and Jordan Spence to cover problems at the back this campaign, Millen has been hindered by a series of injuries to key defenders.
He admits a foray into the transfer market this summer will be needed if City are to avoid similar problems in the future.
"I will be trying to strengthen the defence. Even allowing for all the injuries, there are positions that require strengthening and people know that," said Millen, who has put a left-back and a centre-half at the top of his wanted list.
"We have good competition throughout the side but the only place I don't have that at the moment is in the back four. We are down to the bare bones in defence and I cannot see that situation improving until the summer.
"The summer seems a long way off at the moment but we are already looking at players we would like to bring in and that situation has been ongoing for quite a while now."
