The German media watchdog body KEK has given the green light to the plans by German media company Spiegel TV to launch a web-TV channel focussing on reports and documentaries. The channel will be transmitted as a live-stream on the internet at with no launch date having been announced yet. Spiegel TV already operates TV channel Spiegel TV Digital and holds a 51% stake in sister service Spiegel TV Geschichte. The subsidiary of publishing house Spiegel-Verlag also contributes programmes to the windows operated by DCTP on commercial channels RTL and Sat.1 as well as to VOX.
