Cross-selling between Canal+ and the CanalSat pay-TV package has helped Canal+ Group increase ARPU in mainland France in the quarter to March 31, 2011.
Canal+ Group also increased subscriptions both in France and in the overseas territories to the tune of 214,000. The figures should take Canal to an installed base of around 5.6 million.
Revenues rose by 4.1% year-on-year to 1,192 million. Revenues at Canal+ France, which include all pay-TV operations of Canal+ Group in mainland France, French overseas territories and Africa were up 2.4% to reach 1,008 million.
Good audience ratings at Canal+ helped substantially increase advertising revenues while StudioCanal benefitted from successful theatrical and video releases.
Canal+ in Poland and i>T้l้ also made a positive contribution to revenues.
Canal+ Group EBITA was 265 million, compared to 230 million for the first quarter of 2010.
