Spanish media group La10's Vocento has enjoyed resurgence over the last year making profits of £300,000 in 2011 compared with the €5.2 million loss in the same period a year ago.

EBITDA remained €8.1 million, 15.6% less than the €9.6 million at the beginning of this year a consequence of investments made in DTT business lines and also to investment in content for television channel La 10.

The company’s revenues were €174 million in Q1 this year, 0.9% less than in the same period of 2010 due to the downturn of 3.4% in advertising over these months. The company also highlighted an improvement in its net financial position with a debt of €99.5 million, €21.1 million less than at the end of last year.

By type of business Vocento also noted a change in the profile of its incomes in the quarter. The audiovisual and the internet divisions already make up 25.8% of its total incomes, in particular the incomes in the audiovisual division grew by 12.2% to €31.2 million mainly due to the incomes from the DTT after the launch of La 10 in September of 2010 and the launch of Viacom's MTV channel which rents a space in one of Vocento's muxes. All of this registered a growth of 48% in the company's incomes.
