Prisa TV's Spanish satellite pay-TV operator Digital+ is add new HDTV channels to its offering this coming summer.
According to local market sources, the operator is about to sign some new contracts that will allow it to be at the vanguard of technological advances in the country's television sector in particular in high definition.
According to 'Mundoplus.tv' the operator will launch in June 2011 one new HDTV channel and may add a month later two or three new channels.
Digital+ also has the biggest HDTV service with over twenty channels and its plan is to launch over twenty five channels before the end of the year. Behind Digital+ comes Telefónica's pay-TV operator with over six HDTV channels while the country's new satellite pay-TV operator Starmax HD only offers three HDTV channels in its programming list.
