Dubai Media Incorporated is streamlining its broadcast workflow across all its operations and installing an integrated file-based system with a centralised digital content archive at its heart.
The Front Porch Digital DIVArchive content storage management system (CSM) which is being installed during the initial phase of the project is a content repository for all digital media assets and interfaces with major broadcast devices – including nonlinear editing systems, media asset management systems, and broadcast control systems.
Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI ) believes the technology will provide both operational and cost benefits, as well as providing the foundation for the company’s growth strategy.
“I am confident that [the] DIVArchive flexible platform will enable DMI to make both content it generates and content it acquires available in the digital domain for broadcast operation and for delivery to new media platforms,” said Hassan Chahine, DMI corporate technology and engineering advisor.
When installed in Dubai, content from the DIVArchive-managed system will feed Harmonic's Omneon playout servers via a Pebble Beach automation system.
"In identifying the best solution to support seamless content management for their archive, DMI sought one with enough built-in versatility to integrate seamlessly with legacy systems and with a future digital asset management solution," said Rino Petricola, Front Porch Digital senior vice president and managing director
