Showing how the internet is rapidly becoming the perfect way for television to promote its TV channels, Spanish thematic terror channel NCB Universal Networks Spain's Calle 13 has launched a new Facebook app.
The new SocialKiller will use a new way of viral marketing over multi-platform channels and will take the form of an interactive tool expanding the content of the TV series 'Rizzoli & Isles' which recently premiered on the channel.
SocialKiller is the first Facebook app. going beyond applications sharing tools and combines e-mail and a new architecture to promote viral marketing. The application is divided in two parts: first, SocialKiller invites the Facebook users to select and 'kill' its victims among a list of friends; secondly SocialKiller communicates the victims via e-mail they have been 'killed' on Facebook without revealing the name of the killer.
Through this application the 'Rizzoli & Isles' fans can interact with its main characters, resolute its own crimes or become real serial killers.
