Regional TV bosses in Australia have lifted their ban on the hit UK show Come Fly With Me, after it made a strong debut on Nine last night.

The comedy show attracted 1.488 million viewers, putting it in second place for the night's ratings, just behind Ten's hugely successful MasterChef Australia, which had 1.571 million viewers.

NBN and WIN programmers had decided not to broadcast the programme in their regional markets, fearing it would be offensive to regional viewers. But furious viewers in the regions had blasted the local programmers for censoring content.

Both regional broadcasters will now fall in line with Nine's telecast and air the series from next Monday at 8pm
