Hong Kong’s PCCW Global has signed a deal with US pay-TV service provider Home2US, that will see it provide a turnkey video and media broadcast solution.

It will enable Home2US to manage the content elements of its business, focus on end-user customer needs and manage its day-to-day operations more efficiently. The utilisation of PCCW Global's worldwide MPLS network as part of the broadcast solution also enables Home2US to expand its footprint without having to substantially increase capital investments and operating expenses.

PCCW Global’s solution is designed for broadcasters, content providers, and direct-to-home (DTH) operators for the seamless transport of video content throughout the world, end-to-end monitoring and proactive support for their customers.

Nancy Dube, chief marketing officer of Home2US, said: "Home2US is expanding its line-up of international programming, distributed via its premier SES-1 satellite platform in the USA, to meet the diverse demands of viewers.

“We have been also diversifying our backhaul strategies to add more options that can combine efficiency, resiliency and speed with which we can compress the implementation timelines to go to market with the new programming sourced directly from their origin. This requires a strong working relationship with a company such as PCCW Global that can provide the backbone and the infrastructure upon which our services can be transported to our uplink and operational centres."

Richard Brolly, president of Americas of PCCW Global, said: "We are proud to have been chosen by Home2US to continue to provide transmission solutions via a variety of technologies. Our robust network with global reach and award-winning customer support is a perfect fit for partners such as Home2US and we look forward to mutual sustained growth."
