The leading Slovak broadcaster TV Markiza plans to launch a second thematic channel.
Medialne and M&M report that Markiza-Slovakia, the licence holder for TV Markiza, has applied for a licence for the channel.
Known as Markiza Cinema, it would be on air for 112 hours each week and offer viewers mostly movies and TV series.
TV Markiza, which has owned by CME, claims an audience share of around 30% and already has a thematic channel named Doma that targets female viewers.
CME stations currently operate movie channels in the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria.
