According to daily La tribune, Canal+ is renegotiating its former pay-TV deal with Orange to finally take minority shares into Orange movie channels.

Control of the channels will not be shared between both operators and then will not be submitted to enquiry from the French Competition Authority. This scheme is totally different from the one announced on early 2011 and led to the creation of a 50/50 joint-venture.

Orange movie channels Orange cinéma séries would have been merged with Canal+’s TPS Star. Orange was set to preside over the subsidiary over the first two years, and then Canal+ would have run the company.

The new plan will see less cooperation between both groups so that not to be suspected of being an anti-competitive alliance.
