VG Media has obtained a preliminary injunction against an unnamed cable operator based in the state of Saxony, which forbids the retransmission of the private channels represented by the company. The cabler refused to pay the retransmission fee.

The district court of Leipzig ruled at the request of the VG Media a temporary injunction against the cable operator from Saxony. The cable operator had refused, despite repeated requests, to pay VG Media the appropriate licensing fees for the distribution on the cable neytwork. The operator also refused to supply information about the channels it dfistributed, the number of households served and the turnover of its business.

According to a press release from VG Media, the cable operator ha snow undertaken to supply the infromation in order not to interrupt its ewrvice to its customers. The cabler is now also willing to make the becessary payments, according to VG Media.

VG Media is a German private company, which represents the right of a number of German private broadcasters, including those of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group as well as MTV Networks Germany.
