The Czech station Public TV has announced its closure on all distribution platforms.

It stopped using the 23.5 degrees orbital slot on Astra yesterday (May 31) and will disappear from UPCís channel line-up today.
Its DTT distribution on the third multiplex ceased in April.

Total TVís licence holder Totalpress filed for bankruptcy in March after finding itself unable to pay off debts totalling CZK134 million (Ä5.46 million), of which around CZK20 million were to the multiplex operator Radiokomunikace.

Public TV is the second Czech channel to disappear from the third DTT multiplex this year, with news-based Z1 having closed in January.
