Just as leading Spanish broadcasters Corporación RTVE and Antena 3 indicated their commitment to the HbbTV, Unidad Editorial's Veo TV has launched a test channel using the interactivity standard.
Unconnected to the events at the AEDETI congress in Madrid in which broadcasters and the Spanish government alike made a calls to arms to adopt HbbTV, the Mundo Interactivo will run over DTT following a reorganisation of DTT services as part of its 1.2 Phase spectrum plan.
For the last a period of three months, the channel has been broadcasting a series of bundles with limited information about the kind of interactivity or service to be offered. This situation has changed now because the full interactive service has been activated.
It is an HbbTV application consisting of a series of videos supporting the H264 format and AAC sound with film trailers, documentaries, children's programs, gastronomy, reports and music. It is to be thought the service will be developed in the months to come with VOD services, for example.
