French TV group TF1 has confirmed it will negotiate separately with each of the French IPTV operators to plan the distribution of its pay-TV channels and affiliated services as of January 2012.
They include Eurosport, Eurosport 2, LCI, TV Breizh, Ushuaia TV and Histoire. The preliminary business talks led with these operators have been positive and with a constructive outlook from TF1 point of view.
The group also revealed that Canal+ Group just partially answered the consultation. It would be offering a few millions euros to just carry Eurosport on platform CanalSat, while it is currently distributing all channels exclusively for € 70 million. The deal for TF1’s pay-TV channel with Canal+ will end up at the end of this year.
