The Russian DTH platform Tricolor TVís subscriber base rose by 10% to 8 million in the first four months of this year.

The news was given at a press conference in Moscow by its president Vladislav Mordachev, quoted by AKTR and CNews.

He added that 85% of Tricolor TVís customers were now receiving pay-TV services and that the company expects the total subscriber base to grow to 10 million by the end of the year.

By comparison, the DTH platforms NTV-Plus and Raduga TV are currently estimated to have 630,000 and 100,000 subscribers respectively.

Mordachev also revealed that Tricolor TV saw its revenues grow by around R1 billion (Ä24.6 million) to over R3.3 billion in 2010, with the TV packages Optimum and Super Optimum contributing the most to the total.

ARPU in 2010 meanwhile rose by 12.5% to R441.
