The take-up of broadband services is growing rapidly in Ukraine.

Data produced by iKS Consulting and published by ProIT shows that the total number of broadband internet subscribers in the country stood at 3.93 million at the end of the first quarter.

Of these, 3.4 million were home users.

The penetration rate for broadband services was 19.3% in Q1, up by 1.8 per cent on the previous quarter, while earnings from broadband services in the first quarter amounted to UAH922.7 million (€79.5 million), or 31% more than in the same period last year.

The leading providers of broadband services were the incumbent telco Ukrtelecom, followed by Volia, the country’s largest cable operator, Kyivstar, Triolan and Vega.
