Germany's largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland has commenced offering Hollywood blockbusters and classic movies provided by Kinowelt on its digital video library Select Video.
The additions include Clint Eastwood's award-winning drama "Million Dollar Baby" with Hilary Swank und Morgan Freeman, both of which won an Oscar for their roles, and action movie "Mr.& Mrs. Smith" with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Further current titles from Kinowelt's stock joining the line-up are "Piranha" and "Saw 7" as well as "Die zwei Leben des Daniel Shore" in which Klaus Kinski's sun Nikolai plays his first lead-role in a movie. The classics section includes "Highlander", "Stargate" and "Leaving Las Vegas".

With Kinowelt, Select Video () now contains films from a total of 11 studios including Disney, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Constantin Film and Universum Film. Current titles in HD cost 4.99, classics 3.99 with the standard-definition versions being 1 cheaper each. The movies are available for a 48 hour period.
Currently 2.3 million households in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich can access the "real" video-on-demand (VOD) service with further towns to be added in the forthcoming months
