In a further boost to its current strategy BBC Worldwide has concluded a deal with Sony Pictures Television Networks for over 70 hours of drama programming for their pan-Central & Eastern European network.

At the centre of the new deal is Hartswood Films’s series Sherlock, which has previously sold to 21 CEE countries and over 180 territories globally, plus Kudos’s crime drama Hustle. Also part of the included in the package, Sony Pictures Television Networks has also followed up earlier acquisitions with further series of Doctor Who, Torchwood and Impossible Pictures’s Primeval.

Commented Heike Renner, Territory Manager Central & Eastern Europe for BBC Worldwide: “We are delighted to be supplying Sony Pictures Television Networks with an ever-broadening scope of programming. Sherlock and Hustle are highly entertaining shows with great production values and will complement Sony Pictures Television Networks’s existing programme schedule beautifully.”
