Research seen by the Financial Times is predicting that British Sky Broadcasting will provide an even greater contribution to Rupert Murdoch and News Corp with earnings set to double by 2016.
Based on numbers generates by Enders Analysis, The FT says that BSkyBís earnings before interest and tax will rise from £845 million in 2010 to £1.7 billion n in 2015, on the back of sales soaring from £5.7 billion to £8.1 billion. This would mean that BSkyB would have exceeded the combined revenues of the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Quoting Toby Syfret of Enders Analysis, the FT said: Even for a big global media player like News Corp, BSkyB represents a major addition to the consolidated accounts and carries great strategic significance. BSkyB is on a high growth trajectory over the forecast period of 2010-2015; indeed, one that is practically unique among media companies around the world. News Corp and BSkyB both declined to comment on the report.
