Macau Cable TV has posted a profit for the first time since it started operations, in July 2000.

The company announced a profit of MOP3.5m reports Macau Business, compared with a loss in 2009 of MOP1.5m.

Despite the profit, in its annual report, Macau Cable TV stresses its bottom line continues to be impacted by local unlicensed satellite public antenna service providers, which provide TV signals for Asian, American and European content without licence or authorisation from the respective copyright owners.
