The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will play their final concert for the current season on 2 July 2011. 20,000 spectators will attend the event directed by conductor Riccardo Chailly in the Berlin Waldbühne open air stadium.
RBB, the Berlin-based affiliate of public broadcaster ARD, will transmit the concert live on its local TV channel RBB Fernsehen and on radio station RBB Kulturradio from 20.15 CET with cultural channel 3sat taking over the signal in parallel.
For the first time, music fans will also be able to follow the event on the internet. RBB will stream the concert live in collaboration with cultural channel ARTE on the latter's festival and concert site arteliveweb.com . A full-length recording of the concert will remain available on the site for three months.
