In what will inevitably be an increasing trend between broadcasters and social network operators, children's channel Nickelodeon Latin America has chalked up 1 million fans on Facebook.

The company also has also an account on Twitter to which nearly 7,000 users are subscribed and among the features included in the Facebook offering are the ability to write on users’ walls, comment notes, classify whether they like or not a specific content or also watching videos and photographs.

Taking account of this figure Nickelodeon has decided to launch a special week on games and other activities on its fan page.

Adding to Facebook Nickelodeon has an online site where its viewers can reach the recently launched 'Community Nik' in which the channel's characters have their profile and the users can interact among them.
