Cable operator Numericable has ceased its activities in Belgium and Luxemburg after a buyout from a consortium including French private equity group Apax Partners and Luxemburg Deficom Telecom, Deficom and Altice.

Numericable is the main cable-operator in the Brussels region with roughly 110,000 subs and owns around 25% of the market in Luxemburg, with some 30,000 subs. The capital shares in the two countries are now owned by Apax Partners (40%), Altice (40%) and Deficom (20%).
