Olympic rights for France and Spain
05 Jul 11 -

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded a raft of Olympic television rights across Germany and France.

German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF have acquired the broadcast rights across all platforms - including free-to-air, pay TV, online and mobile – to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Russia and 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Separately, French public broadcaster France Télévisions has picked up rights for both of these events as well as the 2018 and 2020 Olympic Games, which have yet to be awarded to a host city. Both deals were struck by IOC Executive Board member Thomas Bach.
