Orange has signed a European partnership agreement to launch and Orange portal on new Samsung TVs.
The portal will initially be available in France, first on Smart TVs, before later being introduced on Blu-ray players and home cinema devices. It will then be rolled out in other European countries where orange has a presence before the end of the year.
“This partnership with Samsung, the leading television manufacturer in Europe and throughout the world, will enable to provide an overview of Orange innovative content and services on all Samsung internet connected TV sets in France,” said Xavier Perret, vice president for service partnerships & business development at Orange.
The portal will include Orange sport info, 2424actu, Liveradio, an enhanced programme guide, trailers for weekly cinema releases and free content from Orange cinema series channels.
Samsung already has a number of deals in place, including with the French commercial broadcaster TF1, Poland’s TVP and Sweden’s TV4.
