Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) is to launch children's channel Cartoonito in Spain at the beginning of next September.
The channel addresses viewers aged between 3 and 5 years of age and it will be firstly distributed through Prisa TV's Digital+, Ono, Telefónica's Movistar Imagenio, Orange TV, R and Euskaltel. The channel will be available to 2.6 million people in Spain.
According to the company’s sources the new channel will replace TBS's Boomerang.
Cartoonito is currently being distributed in some 112 countries and it reaches a total of 125 million homes worldwide either as part of Cartoon Network's programming or as an independent channel.
Cartoonito will not only contain American productions but also Spanish ones such as 'Jam' or 'Bananas en pijama'.
