ViewCast, which offers gear to broadcasters for video over IP and mobile networks,has announced the Niagara 7550, a streaming appliance for the Web-based delivery of high-definition video that doubles the speed of the last Niagara release.
Using multi-core processing technology, ViewCast has also expanded its adaptive streaming capabilities so that users can simultaneously leverage multiple adaptive streaming formats, including Apple HTTP adaptive streaming for Apple iPads and iPhones and Adobe Flash dynamic streaming.
"The Niagara 7550 brings a new standard of quality and performance to ViewCast's Niagara line of professional streaming solutions," said John Hammock, ViewCast president and COO, in a statement. "With its increased processing power and expanded memory, customers may deliver video in multiple adaptive formats simultaneously with a single streaming system, maximizing their investment and allowing them to reach a larger Web-based audience."
