Mexico's second largest TV network TV Azteca has posted Q2 net profits of 394 million pesos a growth of 4% in relation to the same period last year.

"This quarter's results cannot be compared to the same quarter of the previous year due to the extraordinary incomes and costs in relation to the coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2010, " said Mario San Román, the company's CEO.

The broadcaster claimed an average share of 42% in this period in which it reaped sales of 2.725 billion pesos in comparison to the 2.859 million pesos for the same quarter in 2010. And as for the costs and total expenses they amounted to 1.720 billion pesos, meaning 5% less than 1.814 million pesos of the same period in the previous year.

As a result of all of this TV Azteca reported an EBITDA of 1.055 billion pesos compared to the 1.045 billion pesos of Q2 in 2010. Also the EBITDA margin was 37%.
