Shipments of TV panels to China showed a month-on-month decrease in June, according to analyst firm DisplayBank.
Its report showed that TV panels supplied to Changhong, TCL and Skyworth in June all showed month-on-month decreases of over 10%.
From February 2011, shipments of TV panels to China continued to grow until June. According to statistics, shipments of TVs from the top six brands in China reached 3.4 million units in June, representing a month-on-month decrease of 5.4%.
Taiwan panel maker Chimei Innolux (CMI) holds approximately 30% of the market share in China. The top-four panel makers - Samsung, LG Display, AU Optronics (AUO) and CMI – currently supply up to 94.7% of TV panels to China.
After the Labor Day holidays in May, panel makers have been expecting China TV brands to increase inventory. However, due to increases in price and uncertain demand for the October holidays, TV vendors have been delaying procurement.
