Polsat founder and owner Zygmunt Solorz-Zak has called for the creation of a Polish Hulu.

Speaking to Gazeta Wyborcza, he said that he was even open to the possibility of the interactive media platform ipla, which is currently owned by the Polsat subsidiary Redefine, being operated jointly with the national commercial broadcaster TVN.

It is believed that Polsat in fact suggested this to TVN a year ago but nothing came of its offer.

Although ipla was then the market leader, it has since been overtaken by TVNís vod.onet.pl, which currently has 2.7 million users.

The Polish public broadcaster TVP meanwhile operates an on demand platform named vod.tvp.pl.
