The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and national transmission company Emitel have signed an agreement over the operation of the country’s first DTT multiplex MX-1.

The multiplex, which will carry the TVP channels TVP1, TVP2 and TVP Info and new commercial channels Polo TV, ESKA TV, ATM Rozrywka and U-TV, is now expected to make its debut in December 15, with the rollout being completed on April 27, 2014.

Its introduction will also help Poland complete ASO in 2013 and the third multiplex MX-3 to eventually reach 98% of the population.

Both the second multiplex MX-2, allocated solely to commercial stations, and MX-3 were launched in late 2010.
