The Spanish-English teaching channel Aprende Inglés TV has disappeared from the Spanish DTT due to financial problems.

The channel, launched in January 2008, is owned by English teaching company Vaughan Systems which has a large number of English-teaching academies around the world.

The channel was initially broadcast in-the-clear on the DTT and then on pay-TV operators such as Telefónica’s Movistar Imagenio and Ono. From now on, the channel will only be watched on Movistar Imagenio as well as the regional cable operators Euskaltel and Telecable. In Ono’s case, the channel has announced the closing down of its signal due to technical problems and states that it will resume shortly.
Aprende Inglés TV is produced by Unidad Editorial’s El Mundo TV, the production company which also produces Marca TV and the recently closed DTT channel Veo 7, also owned by the media group.
