The Croatian incumbent telco T-HT has begun a LTE trial involving around 100 selected private and business customers in the cities of Zagreb, Rijeka and Split.

LTE is currently the most advanced mobile internet technology, allowing download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and faster access to such video content as Youtube and mobile TV, as well as a number of applications based on the new Web 2.0 standard.

T-HT first demonstrated LTE last October and established a video conference link between Zagreb and Rijeka employing the technology in March this year. T

he telco aims to start employing LTE on a commercial basis in 2012.
