Sky Deutschland will add two more HD channels to its line-up on October 15. Fox HD and National Geographic Wild HD will be part of the operator’s basic Sky Welt bouquet.

With the new additions, the total number of Sky HD channels in Germany will reach 15. Including the free-to-air pubic and private channels and the encrypted HD channels in Astra HD+ bouquet, German viewers will now have access to 31 HD channels via satellite DTH.

Gary Davey, EVP of programming at Sky Deutschland, said in a statement that the launch of two channels again underline the desire of Sky to offer high-class quality and technical innovation in all major programme areas. With outstanding US series on Fox HD and the best nature documentaries on Nat Geo Wild HD, Sky has the best offer for its customers, “which we will expand before the end of the year”.

On Saturday, August 6, Sky launched its third HD channel, Sky Sport HD Extra, in the country.
