German home-shopping broadcaster HSE24 will simulcast its main channel in HD from 1 September 2011.

HSE24 HD will be available free-to-air to DTH satellite households on Astra (19.2° East) on the frequency 10.773 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 3/4).

The uplink to the satellite and the HD encoding will be handled by SES Astra’s technical services subsidiary APS. HSE24 presents products from the areas of fashion, jewellery, beauty, wellness and household items, 24-hours a day.

With the move, HSE24 will follow its main competitor QVC which announced in April 2011 that is will transmit its main channel in HDTV from 1 September 2011.
