Li TV Holdings is continuing its regional expansion by launching Li on Taiwanese cable platform kbro, IPTV platform Chunghwa Telecom MOD, and the IPTV arm of Hong Kong Broadband Network, bbTV in Hong Kong.

Li’s expansion in Taiwan follows a call by the Taiwanese Government to promote digitisation.

Last month, Malaysia’s Star Publications acquired a 51% stake in Li TV Holdings for RM35m (£7.2m).

Anne Chan, general manager of Li, said: “It has been an exciting and meaningful month for Li. We’re celebrating having a new investor on board, as well as landing on our 12th platform in the region, all within the two years since the channel first launched.

“Our strong presence in six platforms in North Asia alone is a clear testimony that Asians truly embrace Li as a new living concept and a must-have channel. In the next 12 months, we will consolidate our presence in the current five markets.”

Li’s content includes a mix of Asian, North American and European programming that focuses on food, home, wellness, travel and style. The channel will carry a majority of English-language programming with Traditional Chinese subtitles.
