US BYU TV International wants to expand its reach to all of Latin America, especially Brazil, the region’s biggest TV market.

The North American TV network is linked to the Brigham Young University, and its contents are based on cultural and educational values. The broadcaster has now reached an agreement with the Brazilian Association of University Television (ABTU) in order to share contents. The deal includes coproduction programmes, but ABTU will have to maintain the BYU TV International brand on these so that viewers are aware of the association with the US TV channel.
BYU TV International is also looking to sign more contracts in the Latin American region, aiming to reach more than half a million homes in the Brazilian territory by the end of this year.
