In the wake of announcing strong financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2011, Hong Kong broadcaster PCCW is teaming with ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) to offer ESPN HD and ESPNEWS exclusively on the now TV service.
The new service will give customers HD content including Formula 1, MotoGP, Major League Baseball, Wimbledon, Australian Open, golf majors (The Masters, The Open Championship and US Open), FA Cup and more, on ESPN HD channel.
now TV will also offer ESPNEWS channel, said to be the first 24x7 sports news channel specially developed for Asian viewers delivering news, scores, updates, highlights and exclusive live interviews. The two new channels have enriched the ESS lineup, which also includes the flagship channels of ESPN, STAR Sports and STAR Cricket.
PCCW and ESS will also be introducing shortly a live mobile streaming service, Mobile ESPN, designed to deliver full live streaming of sports content to enhance the existing Mobile ESPN service to PCCW mobile customers. In addition, an online video offering from a live and on-demand sports content portal, ESPN Player, will also be launched. More details will be announced when available.
