Germany's third-largest cable TV operator Kabel BW has grown in the first half of the year 2011 mainly through the supplementary services of the cable subscription.
The number of internet and telephony customers rose by around 25% to 740,000 compared with the end of June 2010. The number of pay-TV customers climbed by 39% to 324,000 while 62,000 customers have now signed up for Kabel BW's mobile services.
Turnover rose by 10.7% to €300.2 million with the adjusted EBITDA increasing by 16.3% to €175.4 million. The Heidelberg-based company didn't post any net result figures. In total, Kabel BW serves 2.4 million households in federal state Baden-Württemberg.
US media company Liberty Global announced in March 2011 to take over Kabel BW for around €3.16 billion . The German Cartel Office is currently probing the deal with a decision expected by November 2011
